Dr. Eric Ibegbu – Gastroenterologist
Dr.Eric Ibegbu completed his medical training, internship, residency, and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology in University of Florida Health Sciences Center in Jacksonville. He also underwent advanced training in therapeutic endoscopy including ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreaticography) and EUS (endoscopic ultrasound).
He is a Diplomate of the American board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology and currently serves as the President and Medical Director of Atlantic Medical Group PC and ESI Medical Research, PLLC. Dr. Ibegbu is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Gastroenterolgy Department of East Carolina University in Pitt County, Greenville, NC. He is a principal investigator in a number of pharmaceutically-sponsored research projects, spanning all areas of gastroenterology.
Dr. Eric Ibegbu has published extensively in the field of gastroenterology in different peer reviewed journals including, “The American Journal of Gastroenterology” and the “World Journal of Gastroenterology.” He is a speaker for several pharmaceutical and medical device companies and he is involved in training other physicians across the country in different therapeutic areas pertaining to gastroenterology.
His excellence has been recognized by the most reputable colleges in the world and he has been conferred the honor of Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and Fellow of the American Society of Gastro-Intestinal Endoscopists.
He aims to serve his patients with the most up-to-date diagnostic and therapeutic techniques combined with unsurpassed compassion. Dr. Ibegbu has a deep commitment to his family and to his faith in God. He is married to Shelley Ann Ibegbu, Practice Administrator of Atlantic Medical Group PC, and they are both ordained ministers of the gospel.
